Defending Rolex Grand-Am GT Champion Returns for 2013

According to Porsche Motorsport North America President, Jens Walther, the length of time it takes to completely perfect a race car design based on a new street car is two years. If you're a current fan of the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car, we're sure you will be happy to hear that the Porsche 911 sports car will rev its engine once again. This time in the form of the 2013 model-year.

The hot-shot performer among its class of speedy autos is currently the defending Rolex Grand-Am GT Champion, amongst other notable things. Since the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup first stepped onto the motorsport scene back in 1989, it has retained a reputation for speed, reliability, value and a cultured racing palette. Walther commented on the automakers feelings about on the roll-out of the 2013 911 GT3 Cup, saying, "The whole Porsche family is excited about the new Porsche 911 (type 991) street car, but there is so much more to be accomplished in 2012 and 2013 with the current 911 GT3 Cup (type 997)."1

While motorsport enthusiasts far and wide revel in the excitement of the automaker's 2013 Porsche 911 GT3 announcement, Motor Werks Porsche of Barrington and other street-car lovers have something to gush about as well. This week also marks the release of the seventh generation Porsche 911 production model to dealerships across the nation. Intentional timing or happy coincidence? We're not sure. Either way, good news abounds for Porsche fanatics everywhere.

Whether you're interested in the automaker's street-legal or race-worthy new Porsche offerings, be sure to stop into Motor Werks Porsche, located at 1475 S. Barrington Rd in Barrington, IL 60010 for all the latest model news and information.
