Following their recent addition of showrooms in Chennai, Chandigarh, New Delhi, Mumbai, and Hyderabad, Porsche added to its ever-expanding Eastern market with the opening of its 6th showroom in Ahmedabad, India. This new dealership marks the company's large growth within the Eastern market and the ability to offer Indian customers the same superb experience and high-end products available in the United States. As Akur Jain, CEO of Porsche Centre Ahmedabad, recently stated at the opening of this dealership, "We are proud to be selected by Porsche to represent its operations in this key region. Our experienced and dynamic team is committed to delivering exceptional Sales and After Sales service on par with Porsche global standards."¹

The construction of the Ahmedabad showroom began in February 2011, and the property offers a forty-two-hundred square foot showroom constantly equipped with five knowledgeable Porsche representatives. Today's most popular model, the Porsche Cayenne will be available for purchase, as will the entire new Porsche product range.  The post-buy, car ownership experience will be exemplary as well; the site offers a thirty-thousand square foot car service area.

So exactly how much is the Eastern market growing? Porsche experts say it could be over 200 percent. Porsche did around 134 delivers in India last year and expects to do sales around 300 by December of this year. Ashish Chordia, Chief Executive of Precision Cars India Private Limited also has some thoughts on the issue of Porsche's growth in these new markets: "Ahmedabad and Surat are very strong markets in Gujarat," he says "In fact, the whole of Gujarat offers a good opportunity for the luxury segment in automobiles. Plus, in India, the average life span of a luxury car for an Indian customer is just two years. While we have received 20 orders so far in Ahmedabad, by December 2012 we expect to do sales in triple digits from Gujarat."²
